Transitioning Outfits from Summer to Fall: A Dress

Today I am sharing another outfit I am transitioning into a fall appropriate look.
On Monday I shared how I am styling a mini skirt for the chillier season, but today I am styling a dress that I wore in this post previously.

I chose to pair this dress with a leather jacket to add a little edge to this otherwise girly dress with ruffles. I'm sure by now you've heard about what a staple a leather jacket is in the fall time. It's perfect to pop over any item in your closet, from a blouse to a sweater to a dress. It keeps you warm, but not too warm since the weather hasn't hit freezing temperatures yet.

Since the dress exposes a lot of my legs, I added some over-the-knee boots to keep myself warmer.
As I mentioned in my post when styling a skirt, OTK boots are a classic fall/winter staple to have. Plus, they create the illusion of longer legs. Win-win!

You can also style a dress with a cardigan or blazer if the weather is too warm for a jacket.

Once it gets colder, I will also be adding a pair of tights to keep my legs warmer with an added layer.
